NIEUW! De KLM Taart van m’n tante taart

KLM will be serving “Auntie’s cakes” in World Business Class to celebrate our birthday and the introduction of Delft blue house number 86. The cakes come from De taart van mijn tante pastry shop (“Auntie’s cakes”) in Amsterdam’s “de Pijp” district.

Siemon de Jong and his business partner, Noam Offer are no ordinary bakers. Rather, they are haute patissiers, who have made their shop “world famous” in the Netherlands. Even the Financial Times ranked “Taart” among the likes of The Ritz and the Waldorf Astoria for its pastry. Aside from producing haute patisserie, including the most hilarious creations, “Taart” consists of a confectionary and a bed & breakfast hotel called “Cake Under My Pillow.”

Siemon is also famous in the Netherlands for his children’s program, Taarten van Abel (“Cake stories”), where he works together with children to make the most wonderfully fanciful cakes. “Taart” desserts are available only on flights leaving Amsterdam that offer an extensive dessert service of fruits, cheese and pastries.
